Pixel 11 Pro bug causing static sounds in recordings while using Video Boost, fix coming [U]

Google continues to improve on video quality with each new Pixel release, but a bug on the Pixel 11 Pro series causes static audio issues when using the Video Boost feature. Update 9/1: In a statement, Google says that a fix is officially coming for this problem and will roll out via a Camera app update “in the coming weeks.” We have identified the cause and developed a software fix that will rollout to users in the coming weeks via the Camera app. Additionally, further performance optimizations will be included in an upcoming monthly Android update. Video Boost first launched on the Pixel 8 Pro back in 2023, delivering major improvements to video quality after adding in some powerful cloud processing. The feature works by uploading your footage to Google’s servers where advanced models can improve the quality quite drastically. It’s still a Pro-only feature, though. On Pixel 11 devices, though, there’s a problem with static audio when using Video Boost. Users noticed the problem last week and the reports just keep coming in. A video shared on Reddit shows the problem clearly, with static bursts every few seconds during the recording. It’s very obvious and almost sounds like a Bluetooth device that’s just at the edge of its range. Several have chimed in on the thread saying they’ve run into the exact same issue. A potential temporary fix for this seems to be clearing the cache on the Google Camera app and/or turning off Audio Zoom, but it sounds like Google is aware of the problem.
