Published: 12:51 EDT, 8 October 2026 | Updated: 12:51 EDT, 8 October 2026 A 40-year-old man who was shot dead while families gathered at a memorial service in west London has been named.Levi Davidson was pronounced dead at the scene after shots were fired at the service, where dozens of people, including children, had gathered.Police rushed to the scene just after 7.45pm after members of the public heard multiple shots at the junction of Braybrook Street and Erconwald Street in Acton.A post-mortem examination has established that Levi died after having sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the chest. No arrests have yet been made.The Met Police said detectives have 'extensively trawled' through CCTV as part of the investigation and the force is working 'at pace' to understand what had happened.More than 50 people, including children, were attending the memorial service, according to the police.Detective Chief Inspector Brian Howie, who is leading the investigation, said: 'We understand a large number of people had gathered for a memorial service and what should have been a time to come together in remembrance has instead left a family devastated.'We believe there were more than 50 people in the area at the time and we are making a direct plea for anyone who was there to contact us. 'Did you see anyone carrying or concealing weapons, people on bicycles acting suspiciously, or vehicles being driven at speed?'We also want to hear from anyone with photographs, video, dashcam, doorbell or mobile phone footage. 'However insignificant it may seem, the smallest piece of information could prove crucial in helping us establish what happened and identify those responsible.'
