Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has said that Tehran is still interested in a negotiated solution to the war with the US, amid renewed hostilities between the two countries. The semi-official Tasnim news agency reports that Pezeshkian met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, telling him that "Iran never welcomes war," but insisting that the US "has not fulfilled its commitments". According to the report, the two leaders discussed maritime cooperation related to the contested Strait of Hormuz.
