Petaluma Fire update: Vegetation fire near Highway 101 stopped after spreading into Sonoma County solar facility

Firefighters have stopped the forward progress of the Petaluma Fire in Sonoma County after a vegetation fire spread into a nearby solar facility Sunday, Cal Fire reported.Fire crews stopped the forward spread of the Petaluma Fire in Sonoma County after the vegetation blaze moved into a solar facility (X | Cal Fire LNU)The fire was reported near Highway 101 and San Antonio Road in Sonoma County. It grew to approximately four acres before crews brought the flames under control. The agency added that crews would remain on scene for several hours to continue mop-up operations and strengthen established control lines.The fire began as a vegetation blaze near one of Sonoma County’s major transportation routes. Highway 101 is a key corridor through the North Bay, and smoke or emergency activity in the area can affect local traffic.Cal Fire did not immediately release the cause of the fire. Investigators are expected to examine the area once suppression work is complete.
