Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday virtually launched the distribution of permanent house titles to the beneficiaries at Sarvepalli Katta in Nellore, from his camp office, fulfilling the long-standing housing aspirations of 939 families.The coalition government had granted permanent ownership rights to eligible poor families over 22.31 acres of land valued at approximately ₹600 crore, an official release said.The Chief Minister congratulated the beneficiaries who received their house titles and expressed happiness over the fulfilment of their long-pending aspirations.Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister P. Narayana and Nellore District Collector Himanshu Shukla participated in the programme held in Nellore. Mr. Narayana handed over the house titles to the beneficiaries.Of the 939 beneficiaries, 701 were women, reflecting the government’s emphasis on women empowerment and strengthening their property ownership rights, the release said.The beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for facilitating the distribution of permanent house titles. Several women said the allotment brought them happiness ahead of Dasara festivities, describing it as an early festive gift for their families.They also stated that the welfare schemes being implemented by the coalition government were providing substantial support to the economically disadvantaged households.Mr. Narayana informed the Chief Minister that the beneficiaries were delighted to receive the titles after waiting for decades. He also said steps were being taken to complete the pending TIDCO housing projects and hand them over to eligible beneficiaries at the earliest.The government had also decided to distribute house titles to eligible poor families in the Jafar Sahib Canal area of Nellore in the near future, the release said.House titles covering 36 acres of land had been distributed to 1,407 families in Bhagat Singh Colony the previous year, the release added.Mr. Himanshu Shukla said approximately 2,600 house titles had so far been distributed to the poor families in Nellore city.
