Har Sahay Meena, former TN archives Commissioner and current Land reforms Commissioner | Photo Credit: RAGHUNATHAN SR I have been in Tamil Nadu for the past 27 years. Chennai is a city of wonderful art, culture, hospitality, and tourism. Medical tourism has been a backbone in this city for many years. The city has the beautiful Government Museum in Egmore, Valluvar Kottam monument, Fort St. George Museum and lovely churches. Galleries often have amazing displays of the fine work accomplished by all artists: upcoming, amateurs and legends. There are so many places to go to for recreation, performances, and exhibitions.Be it fine arts, music or photography, the artists behind the art are given due importance here. The love for art extends to cinema as well: both the film industry and the music industry are some of the best industries here. After attending Chennai’s Margazhi music festival in different sabhas, I have become a student of Carnatic vocal music since 2015.Chennai is also a society in harmony compared to many other parts of the country and has been one of the best places to live; and for that credit goes to its people who have a whole range of talents. Think of any field, and you are sure to find talent in this city. Published - September 02, 2026 12:34 am IST
