People are discovering Harrods’ £15 meal deal, and it’s causing division (Picture: Metro/ Getty) We all have our favourite meal deal items, whether that’s a hearty BLT or a protein pot. Most of us head to the likes of Tesco or Sainsbury’s for our lunchtime fix, but there’s actually a rather more bougie option, too. Diners are only just discovering that super fancy London department store, Harrods, offers a meal deal. And yes, it’s much more expensive than the supermarkets. At £15, it’s more three times as much as Tesco (£4.25), and still more than double the cost of M&S (£6.99). But is it worth the cash? @claudiagreiner I Tried to Create the UK’s MOST EXPENSIVE Meal Deal at Harrods! 💸 How expensive can a drink, main and side actually get at Harrods? I went into Harrods in London to explore their food halls and find the most expensive options I could for my meal deal. There were freshly squeezed juices and fresh smoothies from the juice bar, fresh boba from a small business, fun-shaped drinks, handcrafted desserts and bakery items like individual cake slices. And then there were the mains, including restaurant-style sandwiches from Harrods’ specially selected range. I picked a drink, main and side and added everything up to see just how expensive a Harrods meal deal could be! #harrods #londonfood #mealdeal #ukfood #foodchallenge ♬ original sound – Claudia Greiner Foodie TikToker, Claudia Greiner, visited Harrods to get her hands on what she called the ‘UK’s most expensive meal deal.’ The meal deal can be found in the Food Hall, which sits alongside their Chocolate Hall, their wine and spirits selection, and their Roastery & Bake Hall. Their offering, dubbing the ‘Harrods Trio’ (a much more refined phrase than ‘meal deal’, surely) includes a sandwich, a sweet treat, and a drink. For drinks, there’s freshly made juices, bubble teas and smoothies — which are worth getting in the Trio, given smoothies retail for £7 individually. There are also fancy canned options, like premium sodas from Jamu, functional drinks brand, Trip, and zero-sugar vitamin water, Activit. Even the water is Fiji and Voss. Cake slices are individually packaged, including tirimasu, red velvet, chocolate fudge cake and pistachio cake slice. Harrods may be an upgrade from Morrisons – but is it worth the cost? Claudia opted for a Tropical Glow juice (£7), a Korean fried chicken wrap (£7), and a chocolate cake slice (£5.50). Claudia’s total was worth £19.50, saving her £4.50. @claudiagreiner I Tried the UK’s MOST EXPENSIVE Meal Deal from Harrods! 💸 What is the expensive a drink, main and side actually taste like from Harrods? She said: ‘It’s all good quality, proper food, fresh and homemade. I just think I personally picked the wrong things. ‘The UK’s most expensive meal deal, but well, well worth it.’ And it seems she’s convinced others to give it a try too. ‘That looks banging,’ wrote one commenter. And while it’s an expensive price tag compared to other stores, many felt it was decent value for money.
