Despite David’s operation being a success, he was returned to hospital after suffering with “stroke-like-symptoms” and died in intensive care at Grange Hospital a month after the fall. A post-mortem examination gave his cause of death as traumatic subdural haemorrhage, with part two; apixaban treatment for atrial fibrillation. It was concluded his death was an accident.
