See more Daily Mail on Google - save us as a Preferred Source Published: 12:23 EDT, 28 September 2026 | Updated: 12:53 EDT, 28 September 2026 A 75-year-old man who was caught drink driving has been banned until 2041, when he is 90.Michael Harper showed a 'flagrant disregard for court orders' after being caught driving his Nissan Juke while over the alcohol limit and without insurance.Harper, from Ringwood, Hampshire, appeared at Southampton Magistrates' Court where he pleaded guilty to driving whilst disqualified, driving whilst over the alcohol limit and driving without insurance.He was given a four-month prison sentence, suspended for 12 months, for the incident in Ringwood on April 10.Court records show the custodial sentence was imposed because magistrates found Harper had shown a 'flagrant disregard for court orders' and a 'flagrant disregard for people and their property'.He was also ordered to complete nine months of alcohol treatment and up to nine rehabilitation activity days.For the drink-driving offence, he was disqualified from driving for 14 years and six months.The same period of disqualification was imposed in relation to the offence of driving while disqualified.No separate penalty was imposed for the insurance offence. He was also fined £500.In 2017, Harper pleaded guilty to driving while under the influence of alcohol and was disqualified from driving for 17 months, the Daily Echo reported. He was fined £120.
