VIJAY KUMAR Union Minister of State for Rural Development and Communications Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar on Tuesday reviewed key National Highway projects and pending issues in the Guntur-Vijayawada region with senior National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) officials.The review meeting, held at the Minister’s camp office at Kolanukonda, focused on the progress of ongoing works, bottlenecks and measures to expedite infrastructure projects.Dr. Chandra Sekhar sought details of the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the proposed flyover at Chinakakani on the West Bypass, including the further course of action and the timeline for its completion. He also reviewed proposals for the Outer Ring Road and the status of reports submitted to the Centre.The meeting also discussed issues related to the road underbridge (RUB) and drain outlet at Suddapalli Donka, problems at the Venkata Palem toll plaza and measures to make the Pedakakani Y-junction accident-free.The Minister expressed concern over the slow progress of the two road overbridges (ROBs) under construction at Kolanukonda and Suddapalli Donka and directed officials to expedite the works.He also reviewed the approvals required for laying pipelines under the AMRUT 2.0 scheme and instructed officials to prepare reports on the pending issues within two weeks.G.
