PCG suspends sea travel in Zambales due to rough seas

INQUIRER FILES SAN ANTONIO, Zambales – The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) suspended all sea travel for small vessels in Zambales on Friday as rough sea conditions brought by the southwest monsoon enhanced by Tropical Storm Kiyapo (international name: Noul) continued to affect the province. In an advisory, PCG-Zambales commander Euphraim Jayson Diciano said the operations of all vessels and motorboats 35 gross tonnage (GT) and below were suspended, except those seeking shelter. In its 2 p.m. bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said that Kiyapo was last located over the coastal waters off Camiguin Islands, Calayan, Cagayan as of 1 p.m. The seaboards of the province are forecast to experience moderate to rough sea conditions with wave heights reaching up to 2.5 meters. /dp Your subscription could not be saved.
