Patsy Kensit reveals Noel Gallagher confronted her over quitting Hollywood career for marriage to Liam

PATSY Kensit opened up on her relationship with her former brother-in-law Noel Gallagher and revealed he questioned why she gave up her Hollywood career for Liam. The Emmerdale actress, 58, was married to Noel’s brother and Oasis bandmate, Liam Gallagher, for three years until 2000 and they share a son, Lennon, 26. Host Davina asked Patsy about what it was like being married to Liam at the height of the Britpop phenomenon in the 1990s and under intense media scrutiny. She described her marriage to Liam as “lovely and divine,” but after a while she lost her own identity. “That relationship became so big, and it was bigger than me and therefore the pressure was huge and… it was a very iconic time [but] I lost part of who I was going into that relationship, somehow I lost her,” Patsy explained. Patsy had a prolific career and was a child actor before going on to star opposite Mel Gibson in Lethal Weapon 2. “I think what I forgot in that time was how much I’d done before it,” she said. “I remember Noel, who is lovely and divine, and he’s just always been lovely to me over the years.” Most read in Showbiz Patsy continued: “I remember him taking me to one side and saying, ‘Why aren’t you working? Why aren’t you…’ because I was always off doing films and going to the States and stuff. “And I remember saying, ‘Because I’m too afraid to leave him on his own’.” The Sun revealed earlier this month that Patsy’s character on Emmerdale was set to be killed off, after her pricey return to the ITV soap. The Sun on Sunday revealed that Sadie King — played by Patsy — will fake her own death in dramatic scenes on the ITV soap. Patsy recently reprised her role as the village villain after 20 years and is set to appear on screens imminently. An insider said: “Patsy’s exit has got everyone talking. Soaps are notorious for faking deaths. them play out. “Patsy’s character Sadie is a great villain, so bosses were keen to give her the opportunity to return, if they need her to stir the pot.” Comment now
