Patriots expect Carlton Davis to be out at least another week

Published August 7, 2026 09:54 AM The Patriots have been practicing without cornerback Carlton Davis for over a week and head coach Mike Vrabel said Davis is going to miss even more time before he’s well enough to return. Vrabel said on Friday, via multiple reporters, that Davis will be out for at least another week. Davis injured his hamstring and last practiced on July 28. The timeline means that Davis will not take part in next week’s joint practice with the Colts and will not play in the preseason game between the two teams. It does leave the veteran with several weeks to ramp back up ahead of Week 1’s date with the Seahawks if he’s cleared to resume work around the middle of the month. Davis started every game for the Patriots last season. He had 69 tackles in the regular season before adding 20 tackles and two interceptions in the playoffs.
