Patriots bring back OL Ben Brown, sign LB Erick Hunter

The Patriots released offensive lineman Ben Brown on Monday, but it was a brief parting of the ways. Brown re-signed with the team on Tuesday. The Patriots also announced the signing of linebacker Erick Hunter. They had two open spots on the 53-man roster after Monday’s moves, so no corresponding transactions were needed. Brown started 10 games at center in 2024 and four games at guard last season. He joins Walter Rouse and Greg Van Roten in providing interior depth for New England.Hunter signed with the Lions after going undrafted out of Morgan State this spring. The Patriots signed linebacker K.J. Britt, defensive tackle Jalen Hunt, offensive lineman Jake Kubas, and linebacker Jose Ramirez to the practice squad to round out the day’s moves.
