Patient ‘sent songs to NHS worker he became obsessed with and bombarded her with emails in stalking campaign’

A PATIENT sent songs to a health worker after becoming obsessed with her while she looked after him in hospital, a court heard. Leon Khan, 40, got to know Sylwia Anczakowska when she was a health care facilitator and he was a patient at St Bernard’s Hospital in Southall, West London. Isleworth Crown Court heard Sylwia met Khan “on a professional basis” while he was on the Derby ward, but made no attempt to speak to him when he was moved. Sign up for The Sun newsletter Thank you! This led Khan to allegedly send her a Facebook message saying: “Am I a d**khead?” After blocking him, Sylwia raised the message with her bosses and she was later moved to a role that did not involve interacting with patients, jurors heard. Khan also allegedly gave Sylwia a Harrods gift card, which she did not accept. Following his discharge in September 2025, she received multiple emails under the names ‘Freedom 2025’, ‘Leon Lacey’, and ‘Switch 123’, jurors heard. Jurors heard she reported the emails to police but she continued to receive up to six messages a day with MP3 attachments and a request to meet him in Kensington on February 13, which she ignored. Miles Trigg, prosecuting, said: “The Crown’s case is that the defendant has carried out a course of conduct and we say it certainly amounts to stalking. While of course she was providing him professional care in hospital. “Once he was discharged, we say that he sent a run of emails to pressure her to meet with him, seemingly convinced that she loved him, finally making an ultimatum on 12 February for them to meet. “We say the defendant’s course of conduct did amount to stalking, and she was caused a severe amount of alarm and distress.” The court heard that on Valentine’s Day, Khan made repeated calls Sylwia’s new place of work at a car dealership and told her boss he would “send guys around”. He also claimed he would send a ” package” and the car dealership would “be no more”, it was said. Khan also allegedly accused Sylwia of stealing from him, said he had sent the dealership packages for her and claimed she was in a criminal gang. Mr Trigg said: “It is perfectly clear in making these claims and through these many calls he was trying to get her sacked from her job.” Khan denies stalking, involving serious alarm or distress, between 1 June 2024 and 15 February 2026.
