He’s going to be like, ‘Houston, we’ve got a problem. Give me the Utah Utes,’” one fan said.Another fan said in the video, “Pat, we love you, bro, but like, keep your shirt on. Nobody’s trying to see that. We don’t care, these are college kids, bro. Keep your shirt on, homie.”McAfee said after seeing the video he thought back to the Charlie Kirk shooting, which occurred at Utah Valley University.“I thought to myself, ‘Has anything like really scary happened at like a college gathering in the state of Utah recently? Do we think we should be amplifying reasons for why people hate my guts as a university?’ I don’t know. So, it was a lot of mixed feelings for me going out there,” McAfee said.He added that he has no intentions of ever returning to Utah.“I’ll hopefully never go that place. I think I have COVID or something whenever GameDay goes back, if I’m still a part of GameDay. But I did not enjoy the morning there. ... It was just a weird thing. … But I couldn’t wait to get the hell out of there," McAfee said.McAfee was impressed by the Utah football program and was appreciative of former Utah star Dalton Kincaid appearing on College GameDay, but he is not a fan of the school.“You’ve got people that really hate my guts out there. Like really hate my guts. And I understand it, I guess. This is just a part of what life is, especially because I have a lot of things that are hate-able about me,” McAfee said." I can certainly understand that. But the university gaslighting some of it right before I go out there to talk about your school, especially with what happened 40 miles south in Salt Lake City a little over a year ago, it’s like, ‘I did not enjoy that. I was very, very uncomfortable.’"Matt Connolly is a Sports Trending Reporter for PennLive, writing about the NFL, college sports and other topics.
