Passenger sucked out of Ryanair jet at 15,000ft claims staff did nothing to help as frantic wife clung onto his legs

A PASSENGER nearly sucked out of a Ryanair jet at 15,000ft has claimed that staff remained strapped in their seats and failed to help. That Ljubisa Karovic came back from “the brink of death” – and lived to tell the tale – is nothing short of a miracle, but he has since been haunted by pain and the memories of how he dangled out of the aircraft window in 370mph winds. Svetlana told the Daily Mail: “When we were battling to hold onto Ljubisa the crew didn’t do anything, they looked more scared than us. “It was only the passengers who helped and were brave.” Their lawyer, Vasilis Tsiaras, who has vowed to secure a major payout, said: “My client came back from the brink of death, and we want to make sure that whoever is responsible for this is held accountable. “It is not just about compensation but about establishing the truth as to what happened and the condition of this aircraft. “There are also serious concerns about the conduct of the Ryanair crew. “They were gripped by fear that the plane was about to crash which prevented them from doing anything to help Karovic as he was hanging out of the aircraft.” Most read in The Sun The plane lost pressure, forcing the pilot to make an emergency landing Credit: Reuters He added: “It seems that the crew were more interested in saving their own lives. It was only the actions of the passengers that saved my client.” Ljubisa and Svetlana have also claimed that not a single official has been in touch with them since the incident. Ryanair has reportedly only emailed their son, who booked their flights, to ask if they want to rebook and to ask how his father is. “Nobody from the company has contacted me directly, not even a phone call to show any concern,” Ljubisa explained. His wife slammed Ryanair’s behaviour as “disgusting” and added: “We are going to be dealing with the aftermath of this for a very long time because it’s caused us a lot of psychological damage. “But nobody from the airline has been in touch with either of us.” The couple had been flying from Germany to Greece for a family birthday when broken bits of the jet engine hit the window, creating a gaping hole. The dad-of-two is now in a neck brace with burns on his back and right hand. He was also temporarily paralysed – and his head had swollen while he suffered damage to his right ear and eye. The nightmare ordeal has also left psychological scars as he explained that he is not “functioning properly”. “Now everything is bothering me,” Ljubisa added. “Mentally, I have hit rock bottom. “It has an effect on both my work and family. It is a complete upheaval in my life.” The incident is now being investigated by the US National Transportation Safety Board which has already examined the aircraft and will issue a draft report in around 28 days.
