One is Kerala (Alteration of Name) Bill, 2026, to change the name of the state to Keralam. The second bill, National Co-operative Development Corporation (Amendment) Bill, 2026, proposes wider financing powers to the NCDC. Shah’s attendance in Parliament comes as the Opposition continues to seek a statement from the minister regarding the security crackdown during the CJP’s ‘Chalo Sansad’ march on July 20, as well as on the alleged use of pellet guns by security personnel against protestors.
