It later issued another service update stating that the interchange facilities and station gates at Rajiv Chowk and Central Secretariat had reopened for passengers.The security measures come amid the Cockroach Janta Party's (CJP) planned "Chalo Sansad" march and the commencement of the Monsoon Session of Parliament. Delhi Police has tightened security across the national capital in view of both developments.TRAFFIC ADVISORY ISSUED FOR PARLIAMENT MONSOON SESSIONThe reopening comes as the Monsoon Session of Parliament commenced on Monday, prompting the Delhi Traffic Police to issue a detailed advisory warning commuters about heavy congestion and possible traffic diversions in central Delhi.According to the advisory, increased security arrangements and the movement of Members of Parliament, ministers, and other dignitaries are expected to impact traffic around the Parliament House complex throughout the session. MAJOR ROADS AND INTERSECTIONS LIKELY TO WITNESS CONGESTIONThe traffic police said congestion is expected on key roads, including Rafi Marg, Motilal Nehru Marg, Maulana Azad Road, K. Kamraj Marg, Raisina Road, Rajendra Prasad Road, Parliament Street, Ashoka Road, Talkatora Road, Pandit Pant Marg, and Rakabganj Gurudwara Road. Traffic on these stretches may be halted or diverted intermittently depending on security requirements.Several prominent intersections including Vijay Chowk, Boat Club, Rail Bhawan Roundabout, Sunheri Masjid Roundabout, Patel Chowk Roundabout, Buta Singh Roundabout, Prime Chowk Roundabout, GRG Roundabout, and Jalebi Chowk Roundabout- are also expected to witness slower movement due to security checks and VIP convoy movement.POLICE SUGGEST ALTERNATIVE ROUTES, URGING USE OF PUBLIC TRANSPORT To minimise inconvenience, the Delhi Traffic Police has advised commuters to use alternative routes such as Janpath, Man Singh Road, Akbar Road, Teen Murti Marg, Shanti Path, Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad Road, Kemal Ataturk Marg, Panchsheel Marg, Vinay Marg, the Outer Circle of Connaught Place, Baba Kharak Singh Marg, RML Roundabout, Mother Teresa Crescent Road, 11 Murti and Sardar Patel Marg, wherever possible.The police also urged office-goers and residents travelling through central Delhi to plan their journeys, check traffic updates before leaving home, and prefer public transport, including the Delhi Metro, to ease congestion.Authorities said traffic restrictions may be modified at short notice depending on the security situation, and commuters have been requested to follow directions issued by traffic personnel throughout the Monsoon Session.Delhi Police has issued a public advisory ahead of the commencement of the Parliament session on July 20, 2026, clarifying that no permission has been sought or granted for the proposed march to Parliament reportedly planned by CJP. Authorities have urged citizens not to participate in any unauthorised gathering or procession.NO PERMISSION GRANTED FOR PROPOSED MARCHAccording to the advisory, Delhi Police has categorically stated that reports of a proposed march to Parliament on Monday, July 20, have not been authorised. The police said no permission has been sought or granted for any such protest march or procession.SECTION 163 BNSS IN FORCE IN NEW DELHI DISTRICTDelhi Police said prohibitory orders under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), formerly Section 144 of the CrPC, are currently in force across the New Delhi district.Under these restrictions, protest marches, demonstrations, processions and assemblies of five or more people are prohibited. The only exception is the designated protest site at Jantar Mantar, where prior permission from the authorities is mandatory.TIGHT SECURITY FOR PARLIAMENT SESSIONThe advisory stated that enhanced security arrangements have been put in place as the Parliament session begins on July 20.
