Parkinson admits no guarantees of Wrexham signings

"We're working towards several options," said Parkinson."I great chat with Rob and Ryan before the game and Mike (Williamson, CEO) and Sean (Harvey, director)."We know what we're trying to achieve, but we are competing for players who the top teams are looking to get."There's no guarantees any signings will come in because, the players we're competing for are wanted by other clubs in this division and other divisions around Europe."They're the kind of difference-making type of players we want, but when you're in the battle for players you have the challenge of other clubs trying to take them or teams don't want to sell them."So we know the players we want, the positions; if we get them then great, if not we've got players coming back off the treatment table."That includes Josh Windass who has missed both of Wrexham's opening games, but who is set to return for Friday's visit of Birmingham City, the final fixture before the transfer window closes.Libby Cacace and Ben Sheaf remain out, with the latter a key man for the team in their push for the play-offs last season.Wrexham have made three signings this summer, including Danny Imray, the wing-back from Crystal Palace who scored the hosts' equaliser.He later hit the post to add to Wrexham's frustration at failing to pick up a first win of the season, although Parkinson said he had still been pleased with his side's opening two performances of the campaign that have earned back-to-back draws."You don't make a signing in for the sake of it, or spend big on a player, but it's not the fit we want," he added."I think the three lads we brought in, everyone can see what good players they are. We'd like to add more quality if we can, but like I said, we have got players also to come back into the group."
