Parker Washington says contract talks with Jaguars "are continuing"

Published September 9, 2026 02:28 PM Jaguars wide receiver Parker Washington is hoping to take care of a little business before the regular season gets underway. Washington is in the final year of his rookie deal with the team and the 2023 sixth-round pick would like to reach agreement on a deal that will keep him in Jacksonville beyond this season. On Wednesday, Washington said those talks are active heading into Week 1. “The talks are continuing,” Washington said, via Ryan O’Halloran of the Florida Times-Union. “I want to be here. The Jags want me to be here.”Washington posted career highs across the board with 58 catches for 847 yards and five touchdowns last season. He also returned a pair of punts for touchdowns and said on Wednesday that he’ll remain in that role, so he’ll have multiple ways to make his case for a bigger second contract if he doesn’t sign one before Sunday.
