Pair charged with murder after human remains found south of Brisbane

A man and a woman have been charged with murder after police found what they believe are the remains of a missing person south of Brisbane.Police said a 46-year-old man was reported missing from Beenleigh in March 2022.Following extensive investigations over the past four years, detectives executed a search warrant on Monday at a property on Old Trafford Road at Bethania, near Logan, where they allegedly discovered human remains.A crime scene was declared and detectives from the Logan Criminal Investigation Branch remained at the property.Two people – a 52-year-old Bethania man and a 45-year-old Windaroo woman – have been charged with murder and interference with a corpse.They were set to appear at Brisbane Magistrates Court on Tuesday.Start the day with a summary of the day’s most important and interesting stories, analysis and insights.
