Owls score commitment from 5-star kicker Jackson Pritts

Jackson Pritts, the nation’s sixth-ranked placekicker and the best at his position in the state of Kentucky according to Kohl’s Kicking Camps, announced his verbal commitment to Temple Saturday on social media. A 6-foot-3, 200-pound rising senior, Pritts chose the Owls over offers from Colgate, Army and Air Force. Temple special teams coordinator Brian Ginn offered Pritts back on June 11, a little more than two months after Pritts took a visit to North Broad Street. Pritts, who is kicking at the Kohls National Scholarship camp this weekend, was a jack of all trades for Louisville, Kentucky’s DuPont Manual High School this past season, converting a season-long field goal of 43 yards as well as 35 of his 38 point-after attempts. And in addition to averaging 41.7 yards per punt, Pritts also served as his team’s backup quarterback. Temple’s 2027 commitment list now stands at 14 players after getting a verbal pledge from Pritts, who also visited Notre Dame back on May 31 and Louisville on June 19. After winning the field goal competition at January’s Kohl’s National Underclassman Challenge, the organization ranked him as a 5-star kicker and punter, as well as the nation’s No. 4 overall kicker at the time. Temple currently has one scholarship kicker on its roster in starter and redshirt junior Carl Hardin, as well as redshirt junior walk-on Darren Wu and incoming true freshman walk-on Luke Cochrane, who kicked in high school at St. Joseph’s Prep.
