Original Gran Turismo Circuit Returns to Series After 13-Year AbsenceAutumn Ring returns alongside 12 new cars and a pile of other features in upcoming ‘Spec IV’ update.Polyphony Digital has revealed Gran Turismo 7’s next major update will mark the return of Autumn Ring, and includes a dozen new cars, the series debut of real-life circuit Sportsland Sugo, and a variety of other features. The ‘Spec IV’ update will be delivered in two parts before the end of 2026; the first will arrive in October and the second will be available in December.The first chunk of Spec IV will come with Sportland Sugo (a real-life race circuit located in Japan’s Miyagi Prefecture that currently hosts Super GT and Super Formula rounds) plus six new cars, a new ‘Vintage’ section featuring cars not available to purchase in GT as new, a ‘Car Concierge’ function players can use to order used and Legend cars, new driving challenges, a new car viewer, and a Collector Level cap increase.The second half of Spec IV will include Autumn Ring, another six new cars, a new ‘Family’ mode for inexperienced players, a luck-based race with random cars called ‘Shuffle Race’, online drift trials, and a new difficulty level in the Power Pack.Gran Turismo 7 - Spec IV UpdateAutumn Ring, first seen in the original Gran Turismo, was last included in 2013’s Gran Turismo 6. The GT7 version of Autumn Ring will include the original layout, and a new “greatly expanded layout.”The news comes out of PlayStation’s latest State of Play showcase, which aired earlier today. Highlights from the showcase included an extended look at Square Enix’s Final Fantasy VII Revelation, a clip from Zach Cregger’s upcoming Resident Evil movie, and the reveal of two new limited-edition DualSense controllers inspired by GTA 6, but it was a presentation that was otherwise dominated by continued fan demands for Destiny 3.Luke is a Senior Editor on the IGN reviews team.
