The playful and fired-up DC emo duo Origami Angel have been touring hard since the release of their very good 2024 album Feeling Not Found, and they dropped the compilation track "Back To Life" last year. Today, they've got two brand new songs, at least one of which is named after a Pokémon reference.Origami Angel's new single "Play Around The Crit" is the Pokémon one. Apparently, it's named after a specific kind of attack in the games. B-side "Compound Eyes" is just barely over a minute long. Both tracks are big, sincere, searching things with bright, shiny production from singer Ryland Heagy, who also wrote both songs.
