Oracle teams up with OpenAI to bring ChatGPT & AI tools to enterprise businesses

Oracle is expanding its partnership with OpenAI to bring artificial intelligence directly into the workplace. At the Oracle AI World event in Las Vegas on October 27, the tech giant introduced a new lineup of tools designed to help businesses use AI for daily operations, app development, and cybersecurity. The biggest announcement from the collaboration is the Oracle AI Workspace, a platform that connects OpenAI’s powerful models like ChatGPT and Codex with Oracle’s widely used enterprise software and cloud services.Oracle AI Workspace brings ChatGPT to daily tasksThe new Oracle AI Workspace acts as a central hub that links ChatGPT with essential business applications, including Oracle NetSuite, Oracle Fusion Applications, and the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).Instead of jumping between multiple software programs, employees can use ChatGPT plugins to get their work done. Workers can simply type in what they want to achieve, and the AI will track down the right company data, complete approved workflows, and take action across Oracle systems. For example, a finance worker could ask ChatGPT to investigate recent costs or verify purchasing decisions without leaving the chat window. Oracle stressed that all of this happens securely, strictly following the company’s existing approval processes, access controls, and data rules.AI-powered security testing for networksTo help companies fight off cyber threats, Oracle introduced the AI Security Mesh. This managed service uses OpenAI’s cybersecurity models to automatically hunt down and fix weaknesses in a company's computer networks before hackers can exploit them. The security tool works across Oracle's OCI, other cloud platforms, and local servers. While Oracle manages the safety guardrails to ensure the AI testing doesn't cause system outages or business disruptions, customers will always remain in control of which specific areas of their network are allowed to be tested.Building custom apps without coding knowledgeAnother major tool announced at the event is the Oracle App Composer. This feature allows regular employees to build their own internal enterprise apps to solve daily business problems, even if they have zero coding experience. The tool uses OpenAI’s Codex to write the software, while Oracle automatically handles all the complex backend deployment through OCI. The platform connects these newly built apps with approved company data and also supports a technology called APEXlang, which ensures the generated app code stays clean and easy to maintain over time.A special AI bundle for small businessesTo make sure smaller companies can also take advantage of this technology, Oracle launched the AI SMB Bundle. This package gives small business owners access to ChatGPT Business, Codex, the Oracle AI Workspace, and NetSuite QuickStart for managing core operations like invoicing and cash flow.To help them get off the ground, eligible small businesses can receive up to $12,000 in yearly Oracle cloud credits. This makes it much easier for startups to develop products and manage their daily operations without a massive upfront investment.Oracle CEO Clay Magouyrk stated that this collaboration merges OpenAI's AI capabilities with Oracle's deep enterprise infrastructure. While Oracle has not yet announced the official pricing or release dates for all the individual products, the partnership aims to make it drastically simpler for companies to build, deploy, and manage their business securely in the AI era.- Ends
