October is only halfway through, but it has already delivered some big smartphone launches, including the Vivo V80 and the Redmi 17C 5G. The second half looks even busier for the Indian market. Leading the charge is Oppo’s Find X10 Pro Max, the brand’s latest camera flagship, which could ship with not one, not two, but three 200-megapixel cameras. It isn’t just phones, either. Apple has been busy this month too. The iPhone maker unveiled its smart home line-up just yesterday, and it is expected to be back on October 27 with another event. That one is tipped to bring its first touchscreen OLED MacBook Pro, along with a few other products. Here are a few smartphones that October will see.Oppo Find X10 Pro MaxOppo Find X10 Pro Max is confirmed to launch in India on October 22, while the phone will break cover a day earlier globally. This is Oppo’s first phone to carry the Pro Max name, and it is built around its camera. Since the device has already launched in China, we have an idea of what to expect from the India variant. It could carry three 200-megapixel rear cameras: a main camera with OIS, a 124-degree ultra-wide, and a telephoto with OIS, 3x optical zoom and macro shooting from 10cm. All three can record 8K Log video, and the phone shoots 4K at up to 120fps with Dolby Vision. Hasselblad handles the colour tuning.Under the hood is MediaTek’s latest 2nm Dimensity 9600 Pro chip, a 6.78-inch LTPO OLED display with a 3,600-nit local peak brightness, and an 8,000mAh battery. In China, it supports 80W wired and 50W wireless charging, though Indian specs are yet to be confirmed. It runs ColorOS 17 based on Android 17. Oppo Find X10Oppo Find X10 will break cover alongside the Find X10 Pro Max on October 22. The Find X10 is the more modest sibling, if “modest” can describe a phone with two 200-megapixel cameras. It pairs a 200-megapixel main camera and a 200-megapixel telephoto with a 50-megapixel ultra-wide. It uses the Dimensity 9600M chip and has a smaller 6.59-inch flat AMOLED display.Like the Pro Max, it packs an 8,000mAh battery with 80W wired charging in China, runs ColorOS 17, and carries IP66, IP68 and IP69 ratings. A leaked box label puts the MRP at Rs 1,79,999, though that is a printed maximum price, not the selling price. Oppo is also expected to bring the Pad Mini tablet and Enco X4 earbuds to India at the same event.iQOO 16 iQOO is keeping us guessing. Recently, at India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2026, the company showed off the iQOO 16, and India CEO Nipun Marya said it is coming soon. Asked for a date, he said, “It is coming soon, and by soon I mean soon.” That could mean later this month or as late as December. What he did share is a change of approach. iQOO built its name on gaming and raw performance, but Marya says the iQOO 16 will be a “complete flagship,” with equal attention to the display, processor, cooling, cameras and AI. He also made bold claims about the display and processing power, calling them among the most advanced available, without naming specs.Marya also admitted that price hikes will continue because of memory supply pressure. So don’t expect the iQOO 16 to be as cheap as its predecessors.Infinix GT 50 ProInfinix GT 50 Pro is confirmed to launch on October 27. The GT 50 Pro uses a MediaTek Dimensity 8400 Ultimate chip and a liquid cooling system with visible channels on the back. In India, the box will also include a magnetic cooler that supports 30W wireless bypass charging, so you can power the phone while you play. The 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED display runs at 144Hz, and pressure-sensitive shoulder triggers let you map aiming and firing to the sides of the phone. Infinix claims 144FPS in Free Fire MAX and Call of Duty: Mobile. There is a 6,500mAh battery with 45W wired and 30W wireless charging, along with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage.Pricing is the big question. The GT 30 Pro launched at Rs 24,999 in 2025, but the GT 50 Pro could cost around Rs 40,000. That would put it up against the OnePlus Nord CE 6 and POCO X8 Pro. This is still an estimate.TECNO Spark 50S 5GThe TECNO Spark 50S 5G will break cover on October 16. Tecno has teased the Spark 50S 5G on X, showing it in Burgundy Red and Breeze Blue with a horizontal visor-style camera module. It is likely to borrow heavily from the Spark 50 5G, which has a 6.78-inch HD+ 120Hz display, a Dimensity 6400 chip, a 50-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel selfie camera. It also has a 6,500mAh battery with 45W charging and Android 16-based HiOS 16, along with MIL-STD-810H and IP64 Pro ratings. That phone launched at Rs 17,499 for the 4GB/128GB variant.- Ends
