The open-source, reverse-engineered Etnaviv driver stack that began for providing accelerated graphics support on Vivante GPU IP and since expanded to handle Vivante NPUs as well is now able to handle YOLOX object detection. Open-source developer Tomeu Vizoso who has been leading the work on the Etnaviv AI/NPU support and efforts like Mesa's Teflon framework has now brought up YOLOX on the Vivante VIP line of NPUs such as what's found in the NXP i.MX8M Plus. YOLOX is more capable than the SSDLite MobileDet model they had been supporting to date with the Etnaviv code. Now that various additional operations and other changes are now in place for the Etnaviv driver, it's far enough along to successfully run YOLOX as their flagship model on this reverse-engineered driver stack. Those wishing to learn more about YOLOX on Etnaviv can do so via Tomeu's blog.
