Oops! UK zoo accidentally invites public to ‘child predator tour’

The BBC reports tickets were being sold for a 90-minutes bus tour to see animal predators like tigers, lions, rhinos and Komodo dragons.But the name quickly sparked controversy as social media comments branded the promotion’s name “dangerous” and “staggering.”“Apparently it was such a shock for so many politicians to be in one place at the same time they had to stop letting them in,” one Facebook comment said.“That’s like the perfect bait for predators let them all think they’ve hit the jackpot then have the police waiting for them,” another wrote.“And in this cage, used to be Gary glitter,” a third user joked. “But don’t worry kids, he cant get you any more.”“Did people actually think they’d be going round looking at [Jeffrey] Epstein, Rolf Harris and the rest of the crew,” a fourth asked.A zoo spokeswoman told the BBC that the name was quickly changed afterwards. The error was blamed on the “default naming convention in our system.”Others downplayed the gaffe, noting that in the context of the promotion, it was clearly not an event for sexual predators seeking children to abuse.“Discover the predators of the animal kingdom, and their prey in our brand new guided tour,” the zoo’s website said. “You’ll be the first visitors in the zoo as you board our electric tour bus and enjoy 90 minutes of the zoo all to yourself.“Come face to face with some of the zoo’s most iconic animals, away from the crowds, including our family of Sumatran tigers.
