One of Our All-Time Favorite TVs is Half-Price During Amazon’s Big Deal Days

2 min readOne of our best-tested TVs is now 50% off at Amazon during its Big Deal Days savings event. The TCL 8M8L Series SQD holds up to some of the best OLED TVs on the market for a fraction of the price. Right now, you can save over $1,500 on the high-end mini-LED TV. Whenever Prime Day comes around, I always have one specific thing in mind: TVs. Amazon is a massively underrated place to grab your next big-screen device, and its Prime Big Deal Days savings event(or, as we call it, October Prime Day) is one of the best times of the year to do just that. Fortunately, the deals are already in full force, and one of our best-tested 4K TVs is now 50 percent off. To spare you the math, we’re talking over $1,500 in savings. If you’re looking for a true centerpiece, TCL’s QM8L is absolutely the right call. Our Senior Tech Editor, Stefan Vazharov, dubbed it the best Mini-LED TV on the market, and even went as far as to say it compares to some of the best (and most notoriously expensive) OLED TVs out there.“With thousands of local dimming zones and an upgraded AI-powered processor to control them, the QM8L’s super quantum-dot mini-LED screen delivers a captivating picture with rich colors and deep contrast,” Vazharov said. “The TV’s picture quality is not far from that of a top-tier OLED TV. “It’s a pretty sleek model, thanks to a lack of top and side bezels. It almost resembles a frame TV, only without the frame. This also serves another key function: it fully maximizes its real estate.Brightness is another key component here. Thousands of local dimming zones offer peak brightness, rich contrast, and a crystal-clear picture. Some TVs that offer similar brightness make concessions in picture quality—that’s not the case here. The QM8L utilizes an AI-powered processor that upscales in real time and personalizes your viewing experience based on what you’re watching. A 7000:1 contrast ratio offers lifelike clarity and sharpness. While it’s one of the more expensive 4K TVs we recommend, it’s still significantly cheaper than a lot of the other models out there. And at 50 percent off, that number looks a whole lot better.Shop the TCL QM8L Deal HereTim Kohut is the Deals and Trends Editor for Popular Mechanics, Men’s Health, Best Products, and Runner's World.
