The couple had been married for around four years.A Bengaluru engineer reportedly messaged his mother that he was going to die before allegedly killing his wife and subsequently dying by suicide at their rented residence in Karnataka's Bengaluru.Sumanth, 32, a civil engineering graduate from Dakshina Kannada, reportedly called his mother and sent her a message indicating that he was going to take the extreme step. His mother then alerted the house owner, who reached the residence and informed the police.Sumanth's 29-year-old wife, Padmavathi, a native of Hubballi, was allegedly assaulted by him following a heated domestic dispute on Friday night. She reportedly lost consciousness after the assault and later died.Sumanth after messaging his mother, hanged himself from a ceiling fan at the residence in Rajeshwari Nagar, Hegganahalli in Bengaluru. Padmavathi was working at a cab company near Whitefield. The couple had been married for around four years.The Rajagopal Nagar police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
