But no. And despite the murmurings, I’m still not entirely convinced by the return of skinny jeans either. We’ve been hearing about it for seasons now, but the streets haven’t quite corroborated the claim. So, what's the answer then? Well, right now, a great pair of white jeans feels like one. To me at least.Paired with nothing more than a black belt and an equally (or differently, if you're feeling frisky) white tee, it’s the kind of uniform that speaks not at the highest volume, but in a most confident frequency. Because lately, I’ve found myself fatigued by intellectualized dressing, in clothes that insist on saying something, or worse, on pretending to say nothing. Sometimes, what’s needed is neither, and instead just a well-cut, reliable pair of jeans that simply works. Enter Jeanerica’s Vega in white. They sit, structured yet relaxed, with just enough volume to accommodate a boxy shirt or a lightweight hoodie without collapsing the silhouette. There's a subtle flare that's more exciting than a Levi's 501 without veering into Acne Studios' full-blown '70s territory. Light enough for summer, but weighty enough to wear year-round.To be fair, what I’ve come to realize is that I’m not really shopping for summer anymore. I’m thinking ahead, to September's crisper mornings. A perfect white jean feels as appropriate then, even more so perhaps, as it does now. Imagine it against a double-breasted fall coat and worn-in boots. There’s something about that contrast — stark, cross-seasonal, a little irreverent — that just lands. One note: the titular Vega is intentionally roomy. If, like me, you prefer your jeans a little snugger, I'd recommend sizing down by one.At $230, the Vega 's price isn’t insignificant, but it’s the kind of piece that earns its place quickly. It really does its “One Good” accolade justice, by truly being the one-and-done purchase you'll need to make on the white pants front — maybe ever, if you take good care of 'em.
