One dead and seven injured after driver plows car into crowded restaurant

ONE person has been killed and seven injured after a driver drove into a crowded restaurant on Saturday morning. The driver, identified as a 93-year-old woman, plowed into brunch diners eating on the terrace at Meg’s Grill in Lavallette, New Jersey, just after 11am. The accident took place at Meg’s Grill in Lavallette around 11am on SaturdayCredit: Refer to source Lavallette Police believe the driver had been trying to park when they hit the gas pedal instead of the brakes, sending the Buick Encore crashing into the eatery. A 56-year-old woman from Toms River was killed at the scene, News 12 New Jersey reported. The driver sustained minor injuries and all other victims were taken to hospital.
