While driving downhill, the driver noticed the brakes were no longer working as he tried to steer the carriages to flatter ground to slow down.However, one of the horses fell and the driver lost control of the carriage before crashing into a tree.Passengers inside the carriage were thrown onto the path following the collision, police added.A 73-year-old woman was killed and two of the injured were in serious condition.
