One dead after stabbing at council building near Wembley Stadium

The centre, which was reportedly evacuated amid the incident, is home to Brent Council. A witness said they saw someone lying on the floor of the library in the building, and spatters of blood. Emergency services rushed to Brent Civic Centre in Wembley, north-west London, following a report of a stabbing at 2.25pmAn LAS spokesperson said: 'We were called at 2:25pm to reports of a stabbing at Brent Civic Centre, Wembley, HA9.'We sent an ambulance crew, paramedics in fast response cars and an incident response officer.'We also dispatched London's Air Ambulance.'Sadly, despite the best efforts of our crews, a patient was pronounced dead at the scene'.A message on Brent Council's website read: 'The Brent Civic Centre and Wembley Library are currently closed due to an ongoing incident. 'Please avoid visiting the building at this time. We’ll share updates as soon as we can.'The Met Police and Brent Council have been contacted for comment.
