The sport of softball is changing. Many young and aspiring athletes across the country are recognizing the value college coaches are placing on the combination of in-person scouting and VERIFIED metrics. As part of our mission to grow the sport and help provide opportunities for athletes to display their talents, Softball America partnered with OnDeck Softball, an industry camp combine leader, to evaluate talent in their national combine series. The first stop was in Chicago. Athletes were put through a series of offensive and defensive skills showcasing range, footwork, speed, and power. Below are a selection of athletes who had notable performances. If you are interested in the next camp combine opportunities, check the website at https://ondecksoftball.net/ OnDeck Jamboree Chicago Scouting Notes Molly Quinn (2028 – Wasco Diamonds) – talented left-handed pitcher who consistently sat in the low 60s. She has plus movement on her drop and good bite on her rise. She has the ability to throw a curve and a legitimate off-speed pitch. With her long levers and frame, she has the potential to continue growing. Olyvia Piranio (2028 – Chicago Cheetahs) – athletic pitcher for the Chicago Cheetahs organization who can throw in the low 60s. She shows solid east-west movement, especially on her curve. Camila Diaz (2030 – Heat Premier) – has the makings of becoming a true two-way athlete. She can work up and down in the zone, with plus movement on her rise and solid movement on her curve. Offensively, she gets on plane quickly, can drive to the opposite field with power, and has room to grow on her strong frame. McKenna Miller (2030 – Wasco Diamonds) – a solid young prospect who can throw in the low 60s. She has good break on her curve and likes to show the drop down in the zone. HK Gabbard (2031 – Beverly Bandits) – a pitcher with long levers and a tall frame. She consistently sat 63-64 with plus movement on her curve and threw a nice heavy drop. Having just completed 7th grade, there is a lot to like about her long-term potential. Lilah Correll (2027 – Wasco Diamonds) – a true utility player who works a nice level swing path. She gets on plane quickly, stays in the zone for a long time, and shows solid bat lag with whip in her mechanics. Stella Doffin (2028 – IN Gators Premier) – Worked a solid pop time with a good transfer behind the plate and was able to adjust to several different pitchers. Offensively, she can stay in the middle of the field and has a fundamental level swing. Addyson MacGregor (2028 – Armor Elite Dombroski) – Strong left-handed hitting catcher with power to her pull side. She is compact and more rotational in her swing path, and she can consistently land the barrel on the inside half of the plate. Gianna Frcek (2027 – Sparks Premier) – Going to be a nice pickup. Offensively, she showed power and solid mechanics with strong repeatability in her swing. She has a tall, athletic frame, plus arm strength on defense, and the ability to play on one foot. She looked most comfortable on the left side of the infield. Ella Anderson (2028 – WI Lightning) – True slapper with good footwork through the box and elite speed. She has a steep natural barrel path that aided her on pitches low in the zone. She showed the ability to land her barrel and stay in the middle of the field.
