Muscat: A one-year prison term and a fine of OMR 100 will be imposed on anyone caught begging in mosques, streets, public or private places, or shops, Public Prosecution (PP), said. According to the Article No.297 of the Penal Code, Begging in mosques, streets, public or private places, or shops is a crime punishable by imprisonment for one year and a fine of OMR 100 or either of these two penalties.
