Oman's refinery production exceeds 108 million barrels

Muscat: The total output of refineries in the Sultanate of Oman until the end of June 2026 amounted to approximately 108.84 million barrels, a decrease of 5.1 percent compared to the same period in 2025, which amounted to 114.66 million barrels.The latest preliminary statistics issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) indicate that total production of motor fuel decreased by 1.5 percent until the end of last June. Statistics showed that the production of regular petrol (M91) decreased by 4.7 percent until the end of June 2026 to reach 8.25 million barrels, compared to 8.65 million barrels during the same period of 2025.Sales of 91 octane petrol also decreased by 13.3 percent, reaching 7.85 million barrels, compared to 9.65 million barrels during the same period in 2025. Its exports increased by 4.2 percent to reach 1.88 million barrels until the end of June 2026, compared to 1.80 million barrels during the same period in 2025.In contrast, the production of premium petrol (M95) increased by 2.6 percent until the end of last June, reaching 6.88 million barrels, compared to 6.71 million barrels during the same period last year. Its sales decreased by 13.6 percent to reach 7.37 million barrels compared to 8.53 million barrels, and its exports decreased by 3.5 percent to reach 362,900 barrels compared to 376,000 barrels during the same period of 2025.Gas oil production (diesel) recorded a decrease of 7.5 percent until the end of June, reaching 36.52 million barrels, compared to 39.49 million barrels during the same period of 2025. Its sales also decreased by 6.1 percent to reach 9.92 million barrels, compared to 10.57 million barrels in the same period of last year. Its exports also declined by 12.9 percent, reaching 27.91 million barrels compared to 32.53 million barrels during the same period of 2025.In contrast, jet fuel production increased by 9.2 percent until the end of June 2026, reaching 14.62 million barrels, compared to 12.87 million barrels during the same period last year. Its sales decreased by 14.3 percent to reach 2.11 million barrels, compared to 2.47 million barrels in the same period last year. Its exports increased by 20.9 percent to reach 11.71 million barrels, compared to 9.68 million barrels during the same period of 2025.In contrast, LPG production decreased by 4.6 percent until the end of June 2026, reaching 5.45 million barrels, compared to 5.71 million barrels during the same period in 2025. Sales also decreased by 22.2 percent, reaching 1.51 million barrels, compared to 1.95 million barrels in the same period last year. Exports, however, increased by 1.7 percent, reaching 1.71 million barrels, compared to 1.68 million barrels during the same period in 2025.Naphtha production also increased by 3.5 percent until the end of June 2026, reaching 19.6 million barrels, compared to 18.37 million barrels during the same period in 2025. Its sales increased by 4.5 percent, reaching 7.95 million barrels, compared to 6.78 million barrels in the same period last year. Its exports also increased by 0.8 percent to reach 12.43 million barrels, compared to 11.94 million barrels during the same period in 2025.On the other hand, the production of other refinery products decreased by 18.3 percent to reach 18.66 million barrels until the end of June 2026, compared to 22.83 million barrels during the same period of 2025. Its sales also decreased by 27.1 percent to reach 14.89 million barrels, compared to 20.43 million barrels during the same period of 2025, while its exports increased by 9.1 percent to reach 5.17 million barrels, until the end of last June, compared to 4.73 million barrels during the same period of 2025.In the petrochemicals sector, statistics showed that gasoline production increased by 12.9 percent by the end of June 2026, reaching 97,100 metric tonnes, compared to 86,000 metric tonnes during the same period in 2025. Exports also increased by 16.6 percent to reach 95,500 metric tonnes, compared to 81,900 metric tonnes during the same period last year.Paraxylene production also recorded a growth of 14 percent, reaching 322,600 metric tonnes by the end of last June, compared to 283,000 metric tonnes during the same period in 2025, while its exports increased by 6.1 percent, reaching 331,700 metric tonnes, compared to 312,700 metric tonnes in the same period last year.As for the production of polypropylene, it decreased by 29.4 percent, reaching 124,600 metric tonnes, compared to 176,600 metric tonnes during the same period last year, while its sales increased by 32.6 percent, reaching 20,500 metric tonnes, compared to 15,400 metric tonnes during the same period in 2025, while its exports decreased by 26 percent, reaching 97,000 metric tonnes, compared to 131,200 metric in the same period in 2025.
