Oman says Strait of Hormuz navigation talks making progress

Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman has condemned repeated attacks on ships while transiting the Strait of Hormuz, describing them as violations of international law and the sovereignty of territorial waters.In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Saturday, Oman said the attacks pose a threat to the safety of maritime navigation and the security and stability of the region. Oman also stressed that ongoing negotiations on arrangements related to navigation through the Strait of Hormuz are proceeding in a positive and constructive atmosphere.The Sultanate underscored the importance of avoiding any actions that could undermine the negotiations or the progress achieved so far, noting that the talks take into account the interests of all parties.Oman reiterated the need to protect the safety of maritime navigation and support efforts aimed at maintaining regional security and stability.
