Oman Consulate in Mumbai urges citizens, students to obtain health insurance

Muscat: The Consulate General of the Sultanate of Oman in Mumbai has urged Omani citizens visiting India, particularly students, to obtain comprehensive health insurance covering medical treatment and healthcare costs throughout their stay.In a statement issued on Saturday, the consulate said it was drawing the attention of Omani citizens and students in India to “the importance of obtaining comprehensive and effective health insurance that covers the costs of medical treatment and healthcare throughout the period of residence.” The advisory comes in light of an increase in cases requiring medical care and hospital treatment, which could result in significant financial costs, particularly for cases requiring intensive care.The consulate stressed that health insurance should cover “medical treatment in accidents and emergencies, the provision of medicines and medical procedures when necessary.”It also specifically urged Omani students in India to ensure that they have appropriate health insurance coverage for the duration of their stay, “to safeguard their health and avoid any unexpected financial burdens.”The Consulate General of Oman in Mumbai called on citizens and students to take the necessary precautions and ensure adequate health insurance coverage while staying in India.
