Olympic gold-winning Reform mayor Luke Campbell 'showed naked pictures of himself to shocked female member of staff'

Published: 11:48 EDT, 17 October 2026 | Updated: 12:35 EDT, 17 October 2026 An Olympic-gold-winning Reform UK mayor is under investigation by police for allegedly showing naked pictures of himself to a female member of staff.Luke Campbell, 39, the mayor for Hull and East Yorkshire Combined Authority (HEYCA) called a senior female employee over to his desk and showed her four 'naked and sexualised images' of himself on a computer, it is claimed. The incident is said to have taken place in an office in central Hull in May and was witnessed by another colleague. The woman at the centre of the claims then had a permanent job offer withdrawn three weeks later, it is alleged. It comes as Reform faces increasing scrutiny amid an upcoming ITV undercover investigation set to air on Sunday, which has captured several councillors using racist and sexist language.Mr Campbell was mooted as one of the party's rising stars, having not been previously involved in politics until his election as Mayor of Hull and East Yorkshire in 2025.He won a gold medal in the London 2012 Olympic Games for boxing and has also been awarded an MBE.But his political career could now be under threat following the complaint from the female member of staff. It is understood Mr Campbell denies the allegations. Luke Campbell, 39, the Reform UK mayor for Hull and East Yorkshire Combined Authority (HEYCA) called a senior female employee over to his desk and showed her four 'naked and sexualised images' of himself on a computer, it is claimedMr Campbell is said to have been interviewed under caution by Humberside Police earlier this month, as reported by The Observer. He has not been arrested or charged with any offence.Documents seen by the paper show the woman was left feeling 'shocked, embarrassed and humiliated' after she was shown the images, only for Mr Campbell and other male staff members to laugh at her reaction.'I was deliberately exposed to naked and sexualised images involving the mayor in the workplace, without my consent, and was laughed at when I was visibly embarrassed,' documents show she said, adding that the experience 'violated my dignity'.A witness is said to have seen the incident and provided an account in a separate document. Other incidents involving the mayor have also been alleged, including that he once lowered the waistband of his trousers to show a tan line and a tattoo on his lower abdomen. The matter is now the subject of internal proceedings after the 'humiliated' woman was told that her offer of permanent employment was withdrawn three weeks after the alleged cyberflashing. It is understood these proceedings are being run by HEYCA, after the alleged victim asserted she had lost the offer due to a 'rejection of unwanted sexual contact'.In a statement, a spokesman said: 'As with all public authorities, the combined authority has a standards process that can be engaged to deal with complaints about members and a complaints procedure that can be used to deal with complaints about officers. 'The standards process and the complaints procedure must be carried out in a fair and independent manner.'A Reform UK spokesman said: 'Luke firmly denies the allegations. They come from a disgruntled employee attempting to leverage a settlement in a meritless workplace dispute.'Mr Campbell's office previously came under scrutiny after it was reported he was 'at war' with his staff, who accused him of creating a 'toxic working environment'.He reportedly demanded that five members of staff resign in August last year after accusing civil servants of deliberately undermining him. Mr Campbell is believed to have butted heads with officials shortly after taking office, following an allegation he tried to claim first-class train tickets on expenses. The claim – which was denied by Reform UK – would have been in breach of government rules. However, the row led to a review by an independent remuneration panel, which later clarified in a recommendation that he could only claim for standard class travel.Things escalated further when Mr Campbell took 'huge issue' after he was told his ambition to hire Reform digital strategist Jack Anderton, 23, and ex-UKIP official Robin Hunter-Clarke, to serve as political advisers had been barred.HEYCA and Mr Campbell's office were contacted for comment.
