Old video falsely shared as teacher stopping CJP from visiting school

On August 15, the Cockroach Janta Party led by Abhijeet Dipke launched the “School Thik Karo” campaign to fix government schools in villages. The campaign urges citizens to audit basic facilities provided by government schools.A video now going viral shows a middle-aged man stopping a young person with a mic from entering a school. Allegedly, it shows the teacher stopping a CJP member. The teacher could be heard saying, “They come to the school to check out the girls.”Sharing the video, an X user wrote, “So CJP goons are entering schools after checking which ones have beautiful girls... I mean, seriously? Should these lukhas be allowed in schools in the name of inspection? These are your icons? Media houses are giving space to these morons?” India Today Fact Check found that the video predates the “School Thik Karo” campaign by more than a month and shows a content creator auditing a local school.OUR PROBEWe noticed “Magadh” written on the mic. Taking this cue, we searched for it and found another version of the video posted by the Facebook page Magadh Express News on July 9. In this video, the middle-aged man identifies himself as an assistant teacher at the school, and the young man says he’s a journalist. The teacher asks him to leave the school campus and says that he is not allowed to enter without official permission. According to the Facebook page, Manoj Yadav runs Magadh Express News. We checked the page and found videos on various subjects, including several videos on the condition of government schools in Bihar. In one of the videos, we also found him grilling a teacher and testing her knowledge.India Today Fact Check reached out to Manoj Yadav. He said that he has nothing to do with the Cockroach Janta Party and is not involved in its “School Thik Karo” campaign. He described himself as a digital creator. On being asked about the viral video, he said, “I visited Rajkiya Uchcha Vidyalaya in Islampur block of Nalanda district on July 9 to highlight the issue of water.”He said that while he was not allowed in the school, the water issue was resolved. However, he added that the infrastructure remained the same.RESPONSE TO ‘SCHOOL THIK KARO’ CAMPAIGN.Multiple FIRs have been filed against CJP members for visiting government schools. An FIR has also been filed against Abhijeet Dipke after he visited a school without permission in Latur, Maharashtra. CJP delegations were also allegedly attacked near Jaipur in Rajasthan on August 21 during an inspection of a government school.We did not find any report of CJP delegations visiting schools in Bihar.
