Oklahoma State flips touted CB J'Lynnd Kellow away from Mississippi State

Days after a massive official visit weekend on campus, Oklahoma State has landed another key piece to its 2027 recruiting class. having a fantastic season under first-year head coach Eric Morris Three-star Willis (Texas) High cornerback J’lynnd Kellow has flipped his commitment from Mississippi State to the Cowboys, he tells Rivals. The touted senior defensive back officially visited Stillwater over the weekend — and is one of the many 2027 prospects that the Pokes are planning to add to their current recruiting haul between now and National Signing Day. Oklahoma State was buzzing with Kellow this spring and was previously the leader in this recruitment. The Cowboys are enjoying a full-circle moment. “The biggest thing is that the culture and the coaching staff and the team all feel right to me,” Kellow told Rivals of his decision to flip. “I’m trusting Coach Wilson and making an impact early — as a true freshman.” Position coach Julian Wilson played a leading role in building an early connection with Kellow — and driving the flip down the stretch. “All the love from the coaching staff that they are showing and telling me about how great I would fit in the scheme and be a game-changer … that is one of the things I’m looking for in a school,” Kellow has previously told Rivals. “I want to be somewhere where I can benefit on and off the field, and Oklahoma State has that for me. They show a lot of love and show that they’re interested in me, and I’m continuing to build relationships with the staff there.” Kellow ranks as the No. 108 cornerback in the country and the No. 117 overall player in the Lone Star State for the class of 2027.
