Ohio Contractor Sued for for Alleged Incomplete Home Improvements

Ohio Attorney General Andy Wilson is suing a home-improvement contractor in southwestern Ohio accused of charging consumers for services that were not completed or, in some cases, even started. Wilson’s lawsuit alleges that Cincinnati-based Quincy Barrett and his company, Crown Pointe Remodeling, solicited consumers online and sold home improvement services, including interior remodeling and repair work as well as roofing, siding, windows and other exterior work. But consumers who filed complaints with the Ohio Attorney General’s Office say the defendants charged large upfront payments and didn’t complete or start the jobs. Nine consumers complained about Crown Pointe’s work, citing damages over $100,000. The state’s lawsuit alleges three violations of Ohio’s Consumer Sales Practices Act: Shoddy and substandard work Failure to deliver goods and services Failure to provide refunds According to the lawsuit, Barrett personally endorsed some of the checks that consumers wrote to Crown Pointe. He also had sole signatory authority over at least one of the company bank accounts. Source: Ohio Attorney General’s Office Topics Lawsuits Ohio Contractors Was this article valuable? Thank you!
