Official Baldur's Gate 3 Player Stats Reveal The Dark Urge's Victims

Somehow, The Dark Urge Is Not The Biggest Threat To Alfira In Baldur's Gate 3 Published Aug 5, 2026, 9:18 AM EDT To mark Baldur’s Gate 3’s third birthday, Larian revealed a bunch of more player stats, so we can judge how everyone else is playing the game. After previously seeing who the most romanced characters are, or what classes we’re all playing as, we’re now truly getting into the nitty-gritty and seeing exactly what people get up to in their playthroughs. More specifically, we have some data on which NPCs are least likely to survive a Baldur’s Gate 3 playthrough - and shockingly, we can’t pin all the deaths on The Dark Urge. In fact, one of The Dark Urge’s first victims, Alfira, is probably safer around the Bhaalspawn than anyone else, as it turns out that the bard is more often killed by non-Durges. Baldur’s Gate 3 Player Stats Reveal Who Dark Urge Players Couldn’t Avoid Killing First of all, we’re given the stats for the characters that died the most across all playthroughs. Presumably, that includes deaths both directly and indirectly caused by the player, so not necessarily because we killed them with our own bare hands. The NPC death stats are as follows: Zevlor: 12.31 million. Rolan: 8.62 million Isobel: 7.20 million Volo: 4.62 million Barcus: 2.66 million (Around 80% of deaths were related to the windmill incident) Alfira: 2.62 million While initially quite shocking, we can make sense of these numbers. Many of these characters can die through negligence, rather than malice, like failing to find Zevlor when he’s kidnapped, or missing the opportunity to save Rolan first in Act 1, and then Act 2. Then we get to Alfira… Now, she is probably best known for being the delightful bard who gets killed during a lot of Dark Urge runs. Her death is unavoidable if you’ve played as a nice person up to that point, as she joins your camp and is killed by your own hands while you lose control. But there is a way to get around this, and it looks like most of you took this. If you knock her out when you first meet her, she’s replaced by another equally lovely bard, who gets killed instead. As per Larian’s stats, many of you must have taken this because Alfira was more often killed by non-Dark Urges than any spawn of Bhaal. Now, perhaps the stats were skewed - maybe Larian is including accidental deaths, like failing to keep the tieflings safe as they travel to Baldur’s Gate. But if memory serves, Alfira is one of the most likely to survive this journey, as she doesn’t get taken to Moonrise. She can die in the Last Light Inn raid, though, which is notoriously tricky. But if Larian really did remove those incidental deaths, then a lot of you have crimes to answer for. Seriously, why? In any case, here are the percentages of Dark Urge victims that were actually killed by The Dark Urge. Isobel: 62% Zevlor: 49% Alfira: 48% Wulbren Bongle: 32% (fair) Popper: 30% (not fair) There are plenty of other stats to glean over here, if you’re interested. For instance, did you know that the unique weapon Poo-Scraper was only used four times in combat throughout Act 3? There’s a challenge run for you.
