Odisha’s final electoral roll has 3.16 crore voters; 17.66 lakh names struck off

File. | Photo Credit: PTI Odisha’s final electoral roll published on Monday (September 21, 2026) has 3,16,32,754 voters, a decrease of 17,66,837 from the pre-Special Intensive Revision (SIR) figure, according to the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO).“The total number of voters after SIR process is 3,16,32,754 comprising 1,61,30,319 male, 1,54,99,661 female and 2,774 third gender voters,” Odisha CEO R.S. Gopalan said.According to Mr. Gopalan, the total number of electors as on July 17, 2026, in the State was 3,33,99,591. As the SIR process got underway, enumeration forms were distributed to all existing electors through Booth Level Officers (BLOs).“A total of 3,13,87,034 enumeration forms, constituting 93.97% of the total, were received back from electors. The remaining 20,12,557 electors (6.03%) whose enumeration forms were not received back were excluded from the draft electoral roll,” he pointed out.Those excluded from the draft roll included 8,32,544 who were found dead, 8,08,205 who had shifted out of their booths, 1,58,118 duplicate entries and 1,99, 249 who were absent.“During the claims and objections period from July 5, 2026 to August 19, 2026, a total of 2,55,996 claims and objections were received and processed for preparation of the final electoral roll. In addition, all forms received prior to July 5 were also processed for final publication. A total of 24,070 electors were found ineligible for the final electoral roll after hearing, and 20,707 electors were deleted against the Form 7 received,” according to the statistics released by CEO office.“Following the disposal of claims, objections and other eligible applications, 2,90,497 electors have been included and 44,777 electors have been deleted from the draft electoral roll. Accordingly, the total number of electors in Odisha in the final electoral roll is at 3,16,32,754 with a net addition of 2,45,720 to the draft roll,” said Mr. Gopalan.
