EXCLUSIVE: VMI Worldwide, Verdi Productions and Source M+P have wrapped killer bee movie Stung in Rhode Island. From writer-director Colin Minihan, the film follows Jess (Iris Apatow), Maya (Odeya Rush) Brooke (Annarah Cymone) and Rachel (Neela Jolene) “as their innocent girl’s night sleepover spirals into a living nightmare when their home is overtaken by a massive swarm of African killer bees. Under the watchful eye of their pathetic neighbor Derek (Justin Long) not even he can save the girls from their fate”. Teddy Parker, Kayln Harper, James Baccile, Tom DeNucci, Kea Ho and Rob Goon will also be appearing in the film. VMI Worldwide will be at TIFF discussing the film with buyers. The film was shot entirely in Rhode Island and produced by Andre Relis, Chad A. Verdi, Jib Polhemus, Chad Verdi Jr., Paul Luba and Jessica Russo, with Michelle Verdi, Sera Verdi, Anthony Gudas serving as executive producers. Watch on Deadline Rush is best known for Lady Bird, Goosebumps and Fox Hulu series Memory of a Killer. Iris Apatow can currently be seen in the Amazon Prime feature Pretty Lethal and on the final season of the Hulu drama series Tell Me Lies. She will also be appearing in Lionsgate’s upcoming feature The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping. Cymone is best known for Netflix series The Midnight Club. Colin Minihan’s most recent feature, Coyotes, starred Justin Long and Kate Bosworth. President of Verdi Productions, Chad A. Verdi stated: “Stung is an intense horror story with entertaining characters at the center of it, and Colin has terrific instincts for building tension and keeping audiences on the edge of their seats. The script and concept grabbed my attention right away and never let go. It’s the kind of original, high-concept material that interests Verdi Productions.
