Octopath Traveler 3 Will "Push The Limits", Says Team Asano

While they've risen in popularity over the years, it's a series that still feels criminally underrated to me, and whenever developer Team Asano announces a third mainline game, you can guarantee it will be my most anticipated game of the year. That being said, we're now three years on from Octopath Traveler 2, and we haven't heard even a whisper of a potential Octopath Traveler 3 being in the works. We got the remake of Octopath Traveler 0 last year, of course, but you have to wonder what else Team Asano is currently working on that will bring in the big bucks. Team Asano Won't Release A "Half-Baked" Octopath Traveler 3 Thankfully, Team Asano is well aware that people like myself and others are itching to see an Octopath Traveler 3 announcement, and in a recent interview with Dengeki Online (translated by Automaton), the studio knows that great expectations have been placed on whatever the team is working on. Unfortunately, they still have nothing to show yet though. That is apparently down to those aforementioned expectations, along with the advancements that the HD-2D graphical art style has made over the years. Due to these advancements, Team Asano has stated that the team is going to try and "push the limits" for Octopath Traveler 3, and refuses to "release something half-baked." It makes sense, especially since many people consider Octopath games the gold standard when it comes to HD-2D. If it wants to keep impressing, it's going to have to put the work in to do that these days, and Team Asano simply asks fans right now to "keep looking forward to what comes next." If the team meets its grand ambitions, then I'm sure Octopath Traveler 3 will meet its high expectations as well.
