Obsession 2 & TV Spinoff Plans Teased By Director Of Blumhouse's 95% RT New Horror Hit

The story follows Bear, a person who goes to great lengths to win the heart of the girl that he is romantically obsessed with. The film features a leading cast of Michael Johnston, Inde Navarrette, Cooper Tomlinson, Megan Lawless, and Andy Richter. In an interview with ScreenRant's Ash Crossan, Barker discusses the future of the Obsession universe, and it seems like he already has some good ideas. The director has "a really cool idea for the sequel," though, says that nothing is confirmed. He is most excited about the idea of a TV show, however, where he could direct the first episode and invite other directors for the rest. Check out Barker's full quote below: Curry Barker: Yes. Yeah, I mean, I have a really cool idea for the sequel, which is basically just another wish gone wrong with the same mechanism as the One Wish Willow. But also, and these are just things that — there's no confirmed anything, ever. But I'd love the idea of a TV show, which is eight episodes. Each episode is a wish. I could direct a pilot, but then we could have other filmmakers come in and direct different episodes of — but each wish is just a different [event], 'cause some wishes don't deserve an hour and 45 minutes. Some wishes should only be a 60-minute thing. Michael Johnston: Any happy endings? Curry Barker: Any happy endings. Who knows? Maybe there's an episode where it really works out, and you're waiting for someone crazy to, and it just never does, and you're just like — The One Wish Willow refers to the magical mechanism that grants Bear a wish in Obsession, opening up a world of creepy folkloric horror. This device now exists in this horror universe, and could certainly be used again to reflect a different key wish. This would work well for any anthology-style work, which seems to be the idea Barker is getting at with the potential TV series. The opening moments of Obsession hint that many customers have bought the same One Wish Willow packet, with folks complaining to the store worker. As a result, this could open the door to exploring more incidents of wishes going wrong. However, the chances of Obsession 2 or a TV series will depend on the long-term success of this horror film.
