‘Obsessed’ fan with ‘sexual interest’ in Billie Piper jailed for 12 months after stalking Doctor Who star

A STALKER with a “sexual interest” in Doctor Who star Billie Piper has been jailed for breaching an order. On one occasion, the stalker commented on a picture of the star on X, saying: “I think I know which image probably made me fall for [Billie], the GQ awards, and made me want to meet her. “She is great without a bra too.” Jerome has now been jailed for 12 months after pleading guilty to four breach charges. Sentencing Jerome, District Judge Kirsty Allman told him: “You have a sexual interest in Ms Piper making reference to her without have a bra on and so on.” She added: “The motivation is to contact her in the hope she will engage in a relationship with you. “You demonstrated an entrenched pattern of stalking and harassment offences, and failing to comply with court orders.” Most read in Showbiz Jerome had a ‘sexual interest’ in the star Credit: PA He saved images of the TV star on his phone and shared AI images on X Credit: Getty Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court heard Jerome was made subject to the stalking prevention order on July 21, 2022. He also had a restraining order placed on him in 2018. The stalker was jailed for 12 months in 2022 for a breaching that order by turning up at Comicon convention where he posed for a fan photograph twice on the same day with Billie – wearing different clothing for the second occasion. The court heard on the second occasion, Billie recognised Jerome and he was ejected from the event by security. Police carried out an inspection of his devices on December 27, 2025, and found four images of Billie saved on his phone. There were also ringbinders at Jerome’s home containing newspaper clippings, details of events and other merchandise. Anisa Alrubaie, prosecuting, said the star’s X account was organised by her personal assistant and she did not have direct access to it. Caroline Bonavia, defending, said: “Were it not for the order, these (offences) would be very similar to what a keen fan would post about a public figure. “A lot of them are similar images of her head in an Andy Warhol arrangement, many repeats essentially of her face and sometimes with AI. “The difference for him is that he must not do this and he accepts it.” Ms Bonavia said Jerome had shown a lack of remorse and empathy, had a recent diagnosis of autism and had sought psychological support to stop him seeking “obsessive and unsuccessful relationships”. She said his breaches “had moved a great deal away from what one would think were the terrifying elements” and added: “He needs to learn that fan or not, even this sort of posting is not permitted.” Jerome was also convicted of harassment dating back to 2012 against a female friend by “sleeping outside her address in the woods”, the court heard. Billie played the Doctor’s companion Rose on the hit BBC show from 2005 to 2006 and made guest appearances in 2008 and 2010. She also had a role as Belle de Jour in the drama series Secret Diary of a Call Girl between 2007 to 2011 and played Isadora Capri in Netflix show Wednesday. Billie, who was previously married to Chris Evans and Lawrence Fox, began her career as a singer when she was aged 15. Her debut song “Because We Want To” made her the youngest female singer to enter the UK Singles Chart at number one. She also had hits with Girlfriend and Honey to the Bee.
